Petoskey Stone Freeform Cabochon #7

This stone was cut, shaped and polished right here at the Emerald Adams Studio. I found it while beachcombing in August 2024.

A Petoskey stone is a type of fossilized coral found mainly along the shores of Lake Michigan. Millions of years ago, the area was covered by a warm, shallow sea, and these stones are the remains of ancient coral reefs.

Petoskey stones have a unique hexagonal or flower-like pattern. The "cells" are the fossilized coral, and they’ll form a repeating pattern across the stone.
