Australian Boulder Opal Heart Necklace

This one-of-a-kind pendant features a 7 ct heart-shaped Australian boulder opal, sourced directly from the "Prestige Opal" mine in the Jundah region of Queensland, Australia—an area internationally renowned for producing some of the world’s most striking boulder opals.

Set in solid sterling silver, the stone measures 26 mm x 21 mm and hangs from a classic 18” sterling silver chain, allowing the opal’s natural character to remain the focal point.

Boulder opals are exceptionally rare and prized due to how and where they form. Unlike other opals that are found as separate seams or nodules, boulder opals develop within ironstone, remaining naturally bonded to their host rock. When cut, a portion of this ironstone is intentionally left in place, creating dramatic contrast and depth while also reinforcing the stone’s strength.
